MaxGxl - What the Heck is It?

MaxGXL is a formulated supplement that was developed by the late Dr Robert Keller. Dr Keller discovered that Glutathione is the number one component that the body can not do without. It is a vital part of our body's system that works so well to keep us safe from disease and helps our bodies maintain its conditioning.

The problem was Dr Keller also figured out that at around the age of 20 your Glutathione production starts to slowly decrease over the years causing that dreaded aging or old age.

He wanted to develop a product that you could take that would accelerate the production of Glutathione in your body. The hard part was to figure out how to get this product into the cellular level with out disappearing in the body first.

Because he also discovered that Glutathione itself can not be absorb by the body. So what he had to do is come up with a formula of vitamins, minerals, amino acids etc when combined would make it through the body to the cellular level and help the body in the creation of Glutathione.

It took 10 years of research but he finally came up with the patent formula now called MaxGXL.

That is the story behind the product.

What is it and what is it suppose to do?

It helps your body produce it's own Glutathione, MaxGXL is not Glutathione, it is a combination of different natural products when delivered in the right proportion gets to the cells of your entire system.

This can be qualified and quantified by a blood test. The usual gains are on average 270% after 3 to 6 months of taking MaxGXL.

What does this all mean? It means we don't have to grow old gradually. We can slow the aging process down enough where you can enjoy your elder years with dignity and full of life.

I'm not here to say if you take this you will never get old. All I'm saying is this will help you to enjoy life that much more because you feel better.

MaxGXL will help you sleep better, will give you a more energetic feeling in your step, will help your immune system and keep you from sickness all the time, will help with memory and focus, will help your muscle recuperate faster and without all that sorness between workouts. I could go on and on but the only way to find out is to try it.

Listen. I'll tell you right now this will not be for everyone because skepticism and procrastination is what keeps most people from living the life they know they were supposed to have.

What I mean by this is most people do not have open minds and let things in. Most people are guarded and put up a wall as not to be hurt by anything and in the process they miss out on so much.

Try not to be that person, the only way not to fall into this hole would be to do your homework which will take some effort and find out as much as you can about a product, person, or information you are about to take as gospel.

Never look at one person's idea as the ONE. You have to do your due diligence and be knowledgeable on any thing you might take like in this example MaxGXL or anything you might do in business or in life to empower yourself to be the best person you can be for the people around you.

Identifying the Stand-Out Anti Aging Brands

Finding the best anti aging brands is a bit similar to the process of finding the best wrinkle creams, however you are less likely to be manipulated. Marketing can convince you to purchase a product, but they cannot convince you that their brand is credible, let alone top of the line. The best brands pride themselves on using high profile, high quality ingredients and their customer service is second to none. In addition, their product line itself can provide you much more information than you may imagine if you know what to look for. The author examines some keys to locating and using the top anti aging brands in the business.

If you are new to the anti aging industry or have not used a wrinkle cream before, this search may seem a bit overwhelming. There are many different companies out there to choose from, and what is even more confusing is that each and every one of them claims to be the best one. So what is a consumer to do, which company do you actually believe and why? Is it the amount of information that you find on the internet or the positive reviews? Or should you look a bit deeper into the companies themselves to see what it is that they have to offer?

The answer is that it is a bit of both. Chances are you are going to use the internet to locate and research which brands are considered the best, or are getting the most positive reviews from industry experts. This is important. Many of the most effective anti aging products are not sold in your local stores and can only be found in high end spas and on the internet. So it is important that you at least start your search there. Once you have read the review sites and seen the brands that are getting the best response from consumers it is time to start looking a bit closer at the companies and the ingredients those products are using.

Start with the ingredients, the company website should provide you an entire page about the ingredients and the most credible companies will even publish the clinical studies of those ingredients. The keys to look for is whether or not this brand is looking to educate consumers about what ingredients work the best and document what results consumers should expect and when. If you are unable to find a complete breakdown of ingredients or no explanation of what they are and how they are going to work, you should be skeptical about this particular brand. The best anti aging ingredients are something a company would want to celebrate not hide. This will give you important insight as to the quality of the company you are considering. You want to be sure that the company you are dealing with is only using top of the line ingredients, as they will have the best results, any indication that they are unwilling to share this info with you should be noted.

The next thing you want to do is examine the product line that these companies are offering. Two common occurrences will appear as you look into a company. The most common and most concerning is the company only offers one product. They may give you long winded testimonials about how great and simple a one bottle solution is, but there is very little documented results that claim a one bottle solution is better the specified treatment. Another thing to consider is what type of company only creates one product. This is cause for a huge concern and should eliminate any brand from your consideration, if they have only one product. The other side of the coin, however, and the second thing you want to look for is whether or not the company has too many products. For example if a company has over 30 different products to choose from, or you see three different types of facial cleansers, as opposed to just one. This company is most likely out looking to maximize profits, not provide quality skin care. We all know that specific treatments are the best for achieving results, but a quality company will create a well balanced cleanser and should need no other cleanser to compliment it. This too should eliminate these brands from your consideration.

The best anti aging brands will have a concentrated product line. Not too many and certainly more than one. Look for a total face wrinkle treatment as well as a specific eye gel and perhaps a neck cream. They will most likely have a facial cleanser and a few variations of anti aging serums, intended to eliminate discoloration, remove wrinkles, reduce pores, etc. They are not forcing products on you that are unnecessary and not limiting your options to only one product. This balanced product line, that uses only the best ingredients and is getting fantastic reviews from both experts and consumers is the best choice for you. These companies are not too focused on profits and are motivated by providing consumers a high quality anti aging treatment that will help them achieve their goals. These are the companies for you.

What Time Do You Eat on the Medifast Diet? I'll Tell You

I receive a lot of questions about the particulars of the Medifast diet. The other day, someone wrote to me and asked, in part. "What time of the day do you eat your meals on Medifast? I have a busy schedule and I'm concerned about having to eat six times per day. I'm trying to get a clear picture of what my schedule and my life would be like on this diet."

In responding, I told her that Medifast really can be tweaked to be a pretty convenient diet. Most of the work is done for you and there is quite a bit of flexibility in when and how you eat your meals. I'll explain this more in the following article.

Spacing Out Your Medifast Meals. What Works Best?: The company indicates that it's optimal to eat every 2 to 3 hours. This keeps your metabolism up and helps your body to get in a metabolic state called ketosis which is going to help you lose weight pretty quickly. Since many of the meals are prepackaged, snack type options, this really doesn't need to be all that difficult. Here's an example of how I complete this.

I don't like to eat immediately upon waking, but I do like to have coffee. So I consume 1/2 portion of the medifast cappuccino and one half portion of the Medifast hot chocolate / cocoa. This gives me sort of a mocha concoction that taste very good, wakes me up, and counts for one of my meals. (One down and five to go.) This typically happens around 6 am.

I do have a little bit of time before I have to go to work, so I'll typically prepare either the diet's scrambled eggs or oatmeal. If it's the weekend and I want to take a bit more care, I'll add some vegetables or fat free cheese to the eggs, but I don't have this luxury on most weekdays, where I just do the bare minimum at around 8am.

By the time I get to my mid morning snack (at around 10am) I'm at work, so I keep it convenient and easy. Typically I will have one of the Medifast bars now. This works well because all I have to do is rip the wrapper off the bar and eat it. This really doesn't interfere with what I'm doing at work so it is no big deal.

I usually take my lunch at around 12:30. I will typically eat chili or one of the soups. Again, this is just assembly because the meals are prepackaged. I usually have my afternoon snack at around 3 pm because this is when I tend to get hungry in the afternoon. If I'm not that busy at work, I will try to have one of the 55 shakes. I do have the luxury of having a blender at work, but if I didn't, I would just have one of the ready to drink shakes that you don't have to mix. And, if I don't feel like a shake, I will sometimes have the chips instead. At this point, I've had four of my six meals.

The Lean And Green Meal. When Should You Have It?: Now, of these six meals that you're going to be eating, one of the meals is bigger than the others and one of them you have to make yourself. This is called the "lean and green meal" and it's important because you're adding in fresh foods and you're learning how to plan, prepare, and consume healthy meals since you don't want to just eat prepackaged foods all the time.

There is a lot of variation as to when people eat their lean and green meal. I find that most, including myself, eat it for dinner. This just makes life easier because you usually have to cook for your family anyway. However, I do know some people who eat it first thing in the morning (when they have more time and wake up ravenous) or who eat it around 3 pm when they are the most hungry. There is no right or wrong answer here. You can do whatever works for you.

This just leaves my nighttime snack. Sometimes I'll have the chips or if I'm not feeling too lazy, I will whip up a shake. Occasionally, especially in the summer, I'll consume the fruit drink over shaved ice (like a snow cone) or eat a frozen shake (like a frosty.)

Combining Medifast Meals: I know that some people really don't want to be bothered with eating so often so they will eat say two meals for breakfast, two for lunch and add in two with their lean and green meal or skip the lean and green all together. I don't' advocate skipping the fresh meal as I really believe you need fresh foods, but I do know people who've done just fine by combining the meals. Technically, this should slow or impede ketosis but it doesn't always seem to.

Of course, the best case scenario is to follow the directions and to space the meals out. This really isn't that hard once you get into a routine, especially since most of the foods are prepackaged.

Childhood Abuse - When the Past is Present

What Is Childhood Abuse?

Child abuse can take the form of any act of emotional, physical or sexual abuse perpetrated against a child. Child abuse can also take the form of neglect: ignoring the child's emotional and or physical needs. Child abuse can take place inside and outside of the family.

How Can You Tell If You Were Abused As A Child?

Sometimes it is very difficult to be sure whether or not you actually were abused as a child. Abuse can be a loaded word. Many of my client's discount their own experiences because someone else may have "had it worse". What matters is how your experiences impacted you.

Some examples of childhood abuse follow to help you think about your own experience. This is by no means an exhaustive list.

Emotional Abuse:

  • name calling
  • fault-finding
  • criticism of or preoccupation with a child's weight or body
  • emotional coldness or unavailability
  • using the child to meet the parent's emotional needs, as a confidant or "best friend"
  • harassment, rejection based on gender non-conformity or sexual orientation
Physical Abuse:
  • Hitting with hands or objects
  • Kicking, Biting, Burning
  • Not letting a child eat, drink, or use the bathroom
Sexual Abuse:
  • Any form of physical sexual contact with a child
  • Can include non-contact abuse, such as exposure, voyeurism.
  • Trafficking and child pornography.
  • Exposure to adult sexuality and violations of privacy.
  • Abuse by peers or siblings also occurs
The Aftermath Of Childhood Abuse

There may be clues in your present day life as an adult that can help you identify childhood abuse. Childhood trauma can cause the disruption of basic developmental tasks such as self-soothing, seeing the world as a safe place, trusting others, organized thinking for decision-making and avoiding exploitation.

Disruption of these tasks in childhood can in turn result in attempts to cope with what has transpired, which may be interpreted in the mental health system as "symptoms." Unfortunately, the very survival tactics used to cope with the abuse can later get in the way of productive and satisfying adult lives.

The following are examples of how childhood abuse might impact you as an adult. Again, this list is not all-inclusive.

  • Relationship Problems--difficulty with communication, trouble setting healthy boundaries, repeating unhealthy patterns in choices of partners and difficulty with intimacy.
  • Social Alienation--feeling different from others, not accepted, stigmatized, social phobia.
  • Low Self-Esteem--self-doubt, self-blame, shame, feeling like an imposter.
  • Difficulty with Feelings--trouble in recognizing, managing and appropriately expressing feelings, depression, panic attacks, anxiety
  • Body issues--disconnection/dissociation from body, distorted body image, coping mechanisms that can harm the body (self-injury, eating disorders, abuse of alcohol and drugs), see sexual problems.
  • Sexual Problems--sexual inhibition or compulsive sexual behavior, flashbacks to abusive experiences during sexual contact, inability to achieve orgasm, pain or numbing during intimacy.
  • Physical problems-- migraines, chronic pain, arthritis, chronic fatigue and irritable bowel syndrome
  • Other Symptoms of Trauma--feelings of fear, agitation, amnesia for events or parts of your life, numbing of bodily areas, nightmares, dissociation.
The impact of childhood abuse does not end when the abuse stops. If you were abused as a child, the long-term effects can interfere with your life today. The good news is that you can heal. It is possible to live a full and authentic life. You can experience wholeness, satisfaction in your work and healthy love and trust in your relationships. Understanding the connection between your abuse and your current behavior is the first step towards healing.

Don’t Dry Out

Make Sure You Drink Enough Water

Cartoon of couple drinking water while hiking

You may wonder if you’ve been drinking enough water, especially when it’s hot out. There’s a lot of confusing advice out there about how much you really need. The truth is that most healthy bodies are very good at regulating water. Elderly people, young children and some special cases—like people taking certain medications—need to be a little more careful. Here’s what you need to know.

“Water is involved in all body processes,” says Dr. Jack M. Guralnik of NIH’s National Institute on Aging. “You need the proper amount for all those processes to work correctly.”

The body regulates how much water it keeps so it can maintain levels of the various minerals it needs to work properly. But every time you breathe out, sweat, urinate or have a bowel movement, you lose some fluid. When you lose fluid, your blood can become more concentrated. Healthy people compensate by releasing stores of water, mostly from muscles. And, of course, you get thirsty. That’s your body’s way of telling you it needs more water.

At a certain point, however, if you lose enough water, your body can’t compensate. Eventually, you can become dehydrated, meaning that your body doesn’t have enough fluid to work properly. “Basically, you’re drying out,” Guralnik says.

Any healthy person can become dehydrated on hot days, when you’ve been exercising hard or when you have a disease or condition like diarrhea, in which you can lose a lot of fluid very quickly. But dehydration is generally more of a problem in the elderly, who can have a decreased sensitivity to thirst, and very young children who can’t yet tell their parents when they’re thirsty.

How much water does your body need? Guralnik says you have to consider the circumstances. “If you’re active on a hot day, you need more water than if you’re sitting in an air-conditioned office,” he explains. An average person on an average day needs about 3 quarts of water a day. But if you’re out in the hot sun, you’ll need a lot more than that.

Signs of dehydration in adults are being thirsty, urinating less often than usual, having dark-colored urine, having dry skin, feeling tired or dizziness and fainting. Signs of dehydration in babies and young children include a dry mouth and tongue, crying without tears, no wet diapers for 3 hours or more, a high fever and being unusually sleepy or drowsy.

If you suspect dehydration, drink small amounts of water over a period of time. Taking too much all at once can overload your stomach and make you throw up. For people exercising in the heat and losing a lot of minerals in sweat, sports drinks can be helpful. But avoid any drinks that have caffeine.

Remember: the best way to deal with dehydration is to prevent it. Make sure to drink enough water in situations where you might become dehydrated. For those caring for small children or older people with conditions that can lead to dehydration, Guralnik advises, “You need to prompt the person to drink fluids and remind them often. It’s not just a one-time problem.”
