Used Exercise Equipment Money Saving Ideas For Your Apartment

In today's difficult economic environment, buying used exercise equipment may be an option you haven't thought of before.

Whether you are downsizing and moving from a home to an apartment or not wanting to pay the expense of a monthly gym memberships fee. You have more choices than ever when it comes to fitness equipment.

Here are a few tips that will help you save money and still stay fit for hopefully many years to come.

First check craiglist for used exercise equipment, this website can be a wealth of information and cost savings. Just be careful that the person or company is real and not some scammer, remember if the deal seems to good to be true it probably is. That is a great motto that has proven it's worth many times.

Second, check the local newspapers under the classifieds for used exercise equipment. Now they may not always have a listing but if you continue to check you may find a great deal from someone who is moving or a health club going out of business.

A third option is to check eBay, this will give you more options from which you can choose from but unless they are local you will have an added expense with shipping. This is still a worthy of consideration if you are interested in updating your home gym equipment.

Another option that many people don't realize is going online and googling the term used exercise equipment or used commercial exercise equipment. By conducting this simple search you will find a number of companies that have ventured into this often misunderstood marketplace.

Just a side note if you are going the google route to make sure that the company has been around for a few years and can supply you with references. Also if the company has a full-time exercise equipment repair service available to fix any issues should they arise.

By following these tips moving from a home to an apartment or downsizing in general doesn't mean you have to downsize on quality. Now you can get a quality workout by getting some used exercise equipment and save money all at the same time.

Hair Replacement Surgery and Correcting a Bad Hair Transplant

Hair replacement surgery has come a very long way. No one wants an unnatural hairline or obvious plugs of hair that only make matters worse. Thankfully, the advances in hair replacement surgery have made a lot of these worries a thing of the past. Hair replacement surgery today is a relatively painless, minor surgery performed under a local anesthetic and only takes a few hours. The results are far superior to what they were just a few years ago.

If you are considering hair replacement surgery, there are a few things you should know when selecting a doctor. First, make sure that you see plenty of before and after pictures. Ask how many procedures each result took. You want to select a surgeon that is honest, has a lot of experience and can give you realistic expectations about your results.

Keep in mind that hair replacement surgeons may have different opinions about what will look best on you. There is a lot of room for interpretation when it comes to desired results. The surgeon that you use should be a creative, artistic type of person. You can usually get an idea of the surgeons ability by the before and after pictures that you see. Ask yourself how natural the hairlines look. Do the hairlines match the faces of the people that you see? Do some look too dense or have an odd color and texture?

Hair should look like it belongs on the head that it is on. If you visit some doctors, you might notice that they seem to put the same shape and density of hair on every person. This is not a good sign. Just because it looks natural on one person, does not mean that it will look good on another. Look for variations in results. When you have a consultation, the doctor should tell you why they are making certain decisions. For instance, your facial features, face shape and other characteristics should be taken into consideration before any decisions are made.

Many men and women have received hair transplants where the doctor used plugs or punch biopsies to fill in blank spaces on the scalp. These plugs make a very noticeable, unnatural hairline that many people are now looking to correct. The procedure itself was not all wrong, but the grafting was not as fine tuned as it is today. You can get your old hair transplant plugs subtly blended to look a lot more natural. This usually only takes one small surgical session and can make your hairline look real again.

Whether you are looking to have hair transplant surgery or you are looking to correct it, selecting your doctor is the first step. Selecting an experienced surgeon that is diligent, patient, creative and artistic can mean the difference in a natural look or an unnatural appearance.

The Difference Between ADHD and ADD - Is There One?

There seems to be a whole lot of confusion around this one. People have been using the terms ADHD and ADD interchangeably for years. While in fact, ADD can be ADHD, you can have ADHD and not really have what people commonly refer to as ADD. Clear as mud? Good. By the end of this article, you have a better understanding of the difference between ADHD and ADD and how they relate to one another.

The National Institute of Mental Health or the NIMH has a rather long history with the name ADHD. The NIMH publishes, on occasion, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (sometimes know as the DSM). In the DSM version III, they labelled the disorder Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). In the next edition, came the name changed to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Along with changing the disorder's name, they had broken down ADHD into 3 sub-categories. One of these sub-categories is commonly called ADD. Is the difference between ADHD and ADD clearer now? Let's break it down a little further.

The three types of ADHD are as follows:

Inattentive ADHD

This is the type of ADHD that people often simply call ADD. Individuals with Inattentive ADHD are often referred to as "daydreamers" or seem "spacey". Someone with this type of ADHD would have symptoms related primarily to inattention but not show significant hyperactive or impulsive symptoms. So they're symptoms would include things like:

  • difficulty paying attention
  • difficulty completing tasks
  • difficulty following directions
  • easily become distracted
  • frequently forgetting or losing things
  • frequently disorganized

Hyperactive-Impulsive ADHD

Symptoms are primarily related to hyperactivity and impulsivity. Individuals do not display significant attention problems. These are the kids that seem to speak before thinking. They are the type of children that can't stay in one place if you glued them down. Children with this type of ADHD may play and interact with other children loudly, often interrupting others. Symptoms include things like:

  • restlessness
  • fidgeting
  • squirming
  • overactive
  • impulsive behaviour
  • difficulty staying seated in one place
  • excessive talking or talking out of turn

Combined ADHD

This is fairly straight-forward. Individuals with this type of ADHD display both inattentive and hyperactive/impulsive symptoms.

Because there are so many nuances associated with ADHD, and there can be a variety of symptoms showing, it's important to have it diagnosed correctly by someone with experience in this field. Once you've got a diagnosis, you can determine the treatment options you think may work given the circumstances. Beware, some physicians take a blanket approach to treating ADHD by prescribing heavy drugs but there are safer, more effective alternatives available. Natural treatments have been gaining in popularity over the last few years. Because of the potentially serious side effects of prescription medications, people are looking elsewhere for the answers. Things like dietary control, behaviour modification and homeopathic remedies are all worthwhile to explore further.

So, there you have it. Is there a difference between ADHD and ADD? Yes and no. While they are often used interchangeably, ADHD has three subcategories, one of which includes what is often called ADD but now also know as the Inattentive type of ADHD. If you suspect your child has some form of ADHD, seeking professional advice is always a good idea. Do your own research as well. Armed with knowledge about the different types of ADHD and the different treatments available, you can help your child get on the path to healthiness that's right for them.

Sinus Infection - What Are the Symptoms of a Sinus Fungal Infection?

Tens of thousands of people suffer from sinus infections every year. Most of them do not know their sinus infection is actually a fungal infection. For decades it was commonly thought that all or most all sinus infections were caused by bacteria. Doctors prescribed antibiotics routinely, often not prescribing them long enough and then had the patient repeat because the infections didn't go away.

So for many years people suffered with sinus infections and were not getting the relief they sought. Not through antibiotics or other drugs either. Then research and studies were done and it was discovered that most were caused by fungi.

The fact that sinus infections were caused by fungi or mold, explained why antibiotics didn't work since antibiotics are prescribed only for bacterial infections. Later it was thought that it was unlikely that antibiotics could reach the sinus cavities even if they worked for bacteria.

So for all those years doctors were barking up the wrong tree.
So the answer to the question "What are the symptoms of a sinus infection?" is simply the same symptoms people have always had that have been claimed as caused by bacteria.

To review those symptoms, one of the most common ways to tell if you have a full-blown sinus infection is the spitting up of yellow mucous. The yellow tinge will almost always be the result of a sinus infection.

Also you may have a slightly irritated or sore throat which can easily be relieved by a solution of 1/2 measuring teaspoon of salt in one cup of warm water, then gargle. If your throat feels better in a few moments, it was likely caused by irritation from sinus infection drainage.

You may or may not have a sinus headache. Many people do have a headache and don't make the connection. There are several places on the face and top of head that you can have facial pain or a headache.

A sinus infection affects the whole body so you can feel tired and low on energy. Many people don't realize this and suffer for days thinking they have a cold.

A sinus infection or sinus fungal infection can be stopped in its tracks if discovered early enough. Medications and drugs are not the answer. Antihistamines will dry up the mucous and drainage so it can't move through the nasal passages and won't help. You want the sinuses to drain. They need to move a quart of mucous through them every day. You may feel it sometimes in your throat.

In any event get started on natural treatments as soon as you know you have a sinus infection or rather a sinus fungal infection or think you're getting one. You can stop it in its tracks. There are plenty of natural treatment options.

What Are Some of the Causes of Yeast Infections?

When it comes to a yeast infection, many things can cause it. There are a few very common causes of yeast infections that you should watch out for. Avoiding these things could help you also avoid a yeast infection. Below are the most common causes of yeast infections.

Using scented products around the vagina, or in the vagina is one way to get a yeast infection. Scented douches, tampons, toilet paper or pads can often irritate the vagina and even cause a pH balance. When the balance of your vagina gets disrupted, the yeast will often begin to take over and cause an infection. Be sure that you never use these scented products on or around the vagina, and you could avoid having to suffer through a yeast infection.

Antibiotics can even be a culprit when it comes to making your body more susceptible to an infection. When you are taking antibiotics, it will kill a lot of the good bacteria in your body as well as the bad. When the good bacteria in the vagina gets killed off, the yeast will often take over and cause an infection.

The good news is that yeast infections can be cured quite easily. One of the best ways to treat one of these infections is by using Yeastrol. It is an orally taken, all natural remedy that is sprayed under the tongue where it can absorb into the blood stream quickly and easily. It will then go to work fighting off the infection, and even preventing further infections.

There are a variety of causes of yeast infections. When you know what the causes are, you will be able to prevent yourself from doing something that could cause you to get the infection. Yeast infections are no fun, so avoid them at all costs!
